• Planting 1 Crore Seedlings: The primary goal is to plant 1 crore seedlings across Assam, significantly boosting the state’s greenery and fostering ecological balance.
• Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT): Introducing a Direct Benefit Transfer scheme to incentivize active participation in tree planting, providing financial aid to participants.
• Promoting Tree Economy: By encouraging tree growth, the Andolan aims to invigorate Assam’s tree-based economy, creating sustainable livelihoods and income opportunities.
• Enhancing Green Coverage: A crucial objective is to surpass previous levels of green coverage, enhancing the overall environmental health of the state.

Benefits of Assam Amrit Brikshya Andolan

This initiative promises manifold benefits:

• Improved Green Landscape: Assam will witness a significant improvement in its green landscape, fostering a healthier and more vibrant environment.
• Free Seedlings: All participants, including individuals and groups, will receive seedlings free of charge, ensuring inclusivity and widespread participation.
• Boost to Tree Economy: By stimulating the tree-based economy, the Andolan aims to unlock diverse economic opportunities for the people of Assam.
• Financial Grant: Participants planting seedlings and uploading geotagged photos on the dedicated portal or app will receive a financial grant of Rs. 100 from the state government. An additional Rs. 200 will be awarded in the third year to support the survival of the planted trees.

To participate:

• Residency: Applicants must be permanent residents of Assam.
• Geotagged Photos: Participants must upload geotagged photos to qualify for the financial grant.
• Eligible Groups: The Andolan welcomes participation from various groups, including self-help groups, ASHA workers, educational institutions, Village Defense Party members, Anganwadi workers, tea garden workers, and individuals.
